Talks are underway to resolve a dispute over the design of a hospital for La Serena in Chile’s Coquimbo region. The dispute could lead to the termination of the 6.15mn UF (index-linked units, US$235mn) contract, according to concessionaire Acciona. Local media reported that Acciona claimed it reached a preliminary agreement with the public works ministry (MOP), according to which the hospital’s area would increase from around 120,330m2 to 134,000m2, as defined in the first pre-investment study.
