Mainstream begins powering up 160MW wind farm in Chile

 Mainstream Renewable Power has begun commissioning its 160MW Llanos del Viento wind farm in northern Chile.

Consisting of 32 Siemens Gamesa 5.0-145 turbines, it will begin full commercial operations later this year.

“With the energisation of Llanos del Viento, the company takes a new step in its contribution to the decarbonisation of the country's energy matrix,” said Mainstream’s senior construction manager for the Latam region Rubén Sánchez.
