Farmtástica, a project by Maricruz Larrea, Eduardo Vásquez, Juan Pablo Manzur, and Rodrigo Larrea, offers a prototype of modular farms that works with vertical farming.
"The main reason we created the company is that we noticed two inefficiencies. 70% of water consumption in Chile corresponds to agriculture. However, we are a country that has been in drought for 16 years. The second thing, and which also has to do with climate change, is that half of the production of vegetables and fruits in Latin America is lost due to shortages," says Eduardo Vásquez commented in an interview with Techla.
