Truck drivers from the Bolivian Chamber of Transport (La Camara Boliviana de Transporte) have blockaded the Tambo Quemado border crossing with Chile as of early Oct. 28. The drivers are reportedly planning to expand the blockades to the Pisiga and Desaguadero crossings with Chile and Peru respectively Oct. 28. The protesters are reportedly denouncing the government's decision to impose export restrictions on certain agricultural goods to avoid domestic supply shortages and price increases amidst extensive, politically-motivated protests in Santa Cruz. The Bolivian Chamber of Transport is also threatening an indefinite strike from Oct. 28 if the government does not lift export restrictions.
